  • Desired Outcomes
    Purpose and Goals of ESSER

    • Ensure stakeholders understand the purpose of these funds and how they benefit our students and community.
    • Provide feedback to all stakeholders and allow for effective, collaborative conversations.
    • Prioritize needs for the District Administrative Team.
  • ESSER III Implementation, Mitigation Strategies, & Evidence-Based Interventions Compliance

Under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III, our district is receiving funds to support safe reopening, sustain the safe operation of schools, and address the impact of COVID-19 on our students through a variety of methods.

ARP Act ESSER III funds are used to implement prevention and mitigation strategies that are, to the greatest extent practicable, consistent with the most recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on reopening schools. A portion of the funds is also specifically dedicated to supporting and addressing the academic and social well-being needs of our most vulnerable students due to the impact of the pandemic through the implementation of evidence-based interventions, additional learning time, and other academic and social-emotional support.

Through ongoing consultation with stakeholders and through the opportunity for public comment, PUSD will continue to engage in the development and implementation of the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. In addition, with the support, consultation, and collaboration of students, families, school and district administrators (including special education administrators), teachers, and school staff via email, social media, video updates, and public board meetings, PUSD will use its ARP Act ESSER III funds to ultimately continue to support the needs of our students and school communities.
