Welcome to what is going to be an amazing school year here at Taylor Hicks. This is my first year as the principal at Taylor Hicks. I am excited to be here at this amazing school. Taylor Hicks Elementary is where I started my educational career. In 2008, I was hired for my first job here as a first grade teacher. I have also taught fourth grade at Taylor Hicks and sixth grade math and science at Granite Mountain.
I have been working in the district for over ten years. I truly enjoy being a part of our community and having a role in the educational journey of our Prescott students. I have two boys of my own that are in the district too. You can find me on the weekends at their sporting events, cheering them on, or even coaching!
As we look to our future at Taylor Hicks, we can see that we will continue to grow and develop foundational skills for all students to become successful, lifelong learners and community builders. We believe "Every bobcat matters, every moment counts" and we do this through Capturing Kids' Hearts. Capturing Kids’ Hearts is a process used by schools across the nation to build stronger relationships with students. The primary focus of CKH is to develop healthy relationships and teach effective skills that help students increase self-management, increase positive behaviors, reinforce emotional intelligence, increase classroom rapport, develop empathy, and increase motivation.
I look forward to the upcoming school year and continuing to create relationships with all of the students and families of Taylor Hicks Elementary School.
