No Health Insurance? High Medical Deductibles?
Did you know that any student who attends a school in the Prescott Unified School District may be eligible for a free, school-based health clinic?
If the student and/or their siblings have no health insurance, or have a deductible over $2500 and no copays before the insurance will cover medical expenses, they are eligible for this free school-based clinic.
Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s Partners for Healthy Students has offered this service to area students for 17 years. YRMC has health clinics in PUSD schools every Thurs. afternoon. There are also clinics in other school districts on different days that you are able to use. Clinic visits are by appointment and they offer well exams, sports physicals and ill child care. Participation is voluntary and a parents needs to be in attendance.

Partners for Healthy Students is a free school-based clinic established by Yavapai Regional Medical Center that brings health services to the school for students with no health insurance or who are underinsured. A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner delivers care and services which includes:
- Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses
- Prevention/well child visits
- Sports physicals
- Prescription medicine, when required
No Insurance – Children with AHCCCS or KidsCare are eligible to receive our services.
Underinsured – Deductibles higher than $2500 and no co-pays when you visit your health care provider.
Mission Statement: The mission of Partners for Healthy Students is to provide school based health care services to uninsured and underinsured students.
Goals
- To provide access to basic health care services for uninsured and underinsured students.
- To access other available health and community resources.
- To decrease school absenteeism due to illness.
- To collect data in order to document outcomes and design needed programs.
