PUSD Distinguished Alumni Award
 

The Prescott Unified School District Distinguished Alumni Award was established in the Fall of 2025 to celebrate alumni of Prescott Unified School District who have achieved exceptional professional or other accomplishments, and/or who have had a well-known positive influence in their community.

Nominees for this award will be considered annually. After the inaugural year, the Selection Committee may select up to five PUSD Distinguished Alumni Award winners. Winners will be recognized with a plaque acknowledging their contributions and will be invited to receive the award at a recognition event during PHS Homecoming Week each year. PUSD Distinguished Alumni will have their accomplishments shared with local Prescott media and will be included in the Distinguished Alumni Awards section of the PUSD website as well as in a digital display at Prescott High School. 

2025 Nominee Selection Committee
The Selection Committee currently consists of 8 members, including the Superintendent, Administrative Assistant to the Governing Board/Superintendent, PHS Principal, a PUSD Teacher, a PUSD Governing Board member, two PUSD Education Foundation Board members, and the Yavapai County Assistant County Manager. All members of the 2025 Selection Committee are PHS Graduates. GO BADGERS!

Individuals interested in serving on the Selection Committee should contact the PUSD Governing Board/Superintendent Administrative Assistant at sarah.torres@prescottschools.com If a member of the Selection Committee resigns their position, replacement members will be added by consensus of the Committee.

Award Qualifications to be Considered by the Committee

  • Exceptional professional accomplishments
  • Have established a reputation for positive influence in their community
  • Additional considers will be given to nominees whose accomplishments are known in the Prescott Community
  • Consideration will be given to all former PUSD students; preference given to graduates of PHS
  • Additional consideration given to advocates of public education

Nomination Process and Timeline
Nominations for the PUSD Distinguished Alumni Award may come from committee members, from PUSD alumni, or from other community members. Nominations must be received by April 30 to be considered.

Individuals can submit nominations through our online Nomination Form. A letter of recommendation must be sent in addition to the nomination form. 

Additional Information
For all living nominees, the Selection Committee will contact the nominee, to confirm that they wish to be considered prior to the selection committee meeting. The committee will meet in May or early June each year to consider nominations, and to select winners. The committee will notify selected PUSD Distinguished Alumni Award winners by June 30 each year.  Nominees not initially inducted as PUSD Distinguished Alumni will be considered for a total of two consecutive years.
