The Taylor Hicks PTA is an active organization in which parents and teachers work together for the education of the students. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to belong to the PTA, whether you can actively participate or only be a supportive member. All are needed. Wow! Can you believe our bobcats only have a few weeks of this school year to go? We had an amazing trip around the world in our "Magical Yellow Submarine," learning about
different countries and their cultures with our reading program. Also, a big thanks to our reading team for the awesome "Under the Sea Oscars" assembly we had, complete with red carpet apparel and awards for the top
favorite books. Our bobcats are great readers. Don't forget to read books over the
summer!
Did somebody say Zoo? We made our boxtop goal of 40,000 boxtops! PTA is rewarding
EVERY student for collecting boxtops with a trip to the Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary! PTA is also providing a picnic lunch for all. Keep collecting those boxtops over the summer and bring them next year. We will have another exciting goal for boxtops next year!
It's that time again! Time to volunteer for next year's committees! We need YOU and your talents for PTA! Do you only have a small amount of time? That’s OK! We need volunteers great and small to help our school's PTA. Taylor Hicks last Sonic night is May 4th from 5-8 p.m. Don't miss it! PTA is hosting the last staff luncheon of the year on May 7th. Our end of the year carnival on May 8th is a family night that you won't want to miss! Did you order your food tickets yet? Texas Roadhouse is providing a great dinner, but you must pre-order your dinner. There will not be extra food available for purchase the night of. Don't forget your lawn chairs or blankets! Please remember that this is a PTA event and children must be supervised. Your students cannot be "dropped off" for this event.
The yearbook signing party will be held on May 13th from 2:15-3:15 pm. Your student will need a signed permission slip to attend this PTA event. A limited supply of yearbooks will be available for $20.00 while supplies last. We need volunteers to help with this party from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. "Bobcats at Barbudos" restaurant night will be on May 20th. Stop by between 5:00-7:30
p.m. and pick up some great Mexican food and Taylor Hicks will receive 10% of all sales.
PTA will have door prizes! See you there!
I would like to thank all of our families at Taylor Hicks for making this school year a success! And to all you volunteers, a great big hug from your PTA! Thanks also to our WONDERFUL staff at Taylor Hicks for all the hard work they do for our Bobcats! Last but not least, I'd like to personally thank all of my PTA board, my amazing "sidekick" Lori Allen, VP, Shannon Gansz, Secretary, Ellie Mckenzie, Treasurer, and Sally O'Neil, Membership for going the extra mile to make our PTA successful. Also, big hugs to all of our PTA Chairpeople and their teams. We wouldn't have a yearbook, family nights, the green team program, boxtops Campbell’s collections, our awesome reading program, the bookfair, club card rewards, red ribbon week, fundraising, Character Counts, the giving tree, fair and movie tickets, and hospitality for staff without all of you, your hard work, and your support. Thanks so much!
