Class Rules and Expectations

Grading

In all of my computer classes, I use the same grading scale that is shown in the GMMS handbook. 

 

100 – 90% = A

89% - 80% = B

79% - 70% = C

69% - 60% = D

59% and below = F

Students are graded on work completed and turned in on time.  If a student is absent they will have as many days as they are absent to turn in the work.  The student needs to come and see me to see what work needs to be completed and when they would like to come in to complete it.  This is the student’s responsibility.

 

Classroom Rules

*      Come prepared to work.  Drinks and bathroom are used during the five minute passing time before class begins.

*      Pay attention during instruction.  Let others speak without interruption.  Listen!

*      Use common sense around the computers; don’t play with any wires or cords.

*      Touch only your computer, no one else’s!

*      No drinking in the classroom, water bottles go on the front table.

*      Do not write profanity of any kind on the computer screen.

*      Ask permission to get out of your seat.

*      There will be no instant messaging, texting, or chatting during class/

*      There will be no email, other than epals.

Consequences of Misbehavior

*      Verbal Warning.

*      15 minute detention, served before or after school.

*      Parent contact and double detention.

*      Referral.

 

Tardy Policy

*      Three tardies are free. Use them for getting drinks of water and going to the bathroom. 

*    Fourth and subsequent tardies will receive a referral.
