TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Dear students and families,

Welcome to the sixth and seventh grade Granite Mountain Team. We are honored to be part of your child’s education.

Shared Policies

Due to distinctions in subject matter and personality you may notice some differences between our team members’ classes. However, some things will not change.

Discipline

At all times that you are on campus, you are expected to follow the school rules outlined in the student handbook. Any violation of these rules will be met with the following escalating consequences:

Verbal warning => Time out => Phone Call Home => Office Referral. Extreme Violation will be given a direct referral to the office.

Rewards

Grizzly Prides, Incentives, Happy Teachers, Field Trips

Class Expectations

                  Be Trustworthy

                  Be Responsible

                  Be Caring

                  Be Fair

                  Be Respectful

                  Be a Good Citizen

Homework and Assignments

Unexcused late assignments will receive 25% off per day of the earned score and will only be accepted while within the unit of study. Extreme cases may receive a further deduction in points.

A Homework Excuse form will be filled out if the assignment is not completed. This form must be attached to the homework when the homework is made up.

Redo Policies

Test – May redo test with teacher permission within a week after the test was given. The two test scored will be averaged for the final grade.

Homework Redo

May redo homework assignments for a higher grade, but it must be done within the unit of study. Redo only the problems that were incorrect on your homework, but you must turn in both

copies of the assignments. (Old and new assignments.)

            Homework and classwork

Must show each step of the problem. All assignments will receive at least two points, one for the work and one for the answer. Answers without work will receive no credit.

Below is an example of the way work should be shown.

            Problem 1 : 2 + 3(15 – 9) + 12                          Problem 2    3(2n + 7) = 99

            1st step       2 + 3(6) + 12                                   1st step           6n + 21 = 99

            2nd step      2 + 18 + 12                                       2nd step               - 21   -21

            Final           32                                                     3rd step          6n = 78

                                                                                       4th step          6       6

                                                                                       5th step          n = 13
