Class
Expectations
Shared Policies
The Jacobson/DeLeone/Hriljac team do share many policies. We feel this helps the students, by having
to learn fewer
rules. However, due to
distinctions in subject matter and personality, you may notice some minor
differences.
Classroom
Expectations
Students are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for class. Being prepared includes having homework and
all required materials for the class.
In the classroom, as well as throughout the entire campus, students are
expected to follow the 6 pillars of Character Counts:
Be
Respectful
Be
Responsible
Be
Fair
Be
Trustworthy
Be A
Good Citizen
Be
Caring
Consequences
In the event that students do not follow the classroom expectations,
the following steps will be implemented.
1.
Warning
2.
Time
out of the classroom
3.
Detention
4.

5.

Tardies
Students are expected to be on time and prepared for class. If students are late or do not have the
required materials for class, they will be marked tardy. Four tardies will result in a
teacher-assigned detention. Consistent
tardiness will require a referral.
Late Work Policy
Students can turn in missing assignments any time before we take the
chapter test. However, the late work
policy is as follows:
90% of the final quarter grade is based on
homework, classwork and tests, while the other 10% is an accountability grade.
At the beginning of each quarter students will
start with 100 accountability points.
Each time an assignment is turned in late 5 points will be deducted from
their accountability grade. (1st quarter=5points, 2nd quarter=10
points, 3rd and 4th quarters=15 points).
the assignment will be graded, and the earned
score will be entered into the gradebook.
Some large projects may be given (with a due
date). Projects will not be accepted
late unless previous arrangements have been made with the teacher.
Redo Assignments
Students can redo any assignment regardless of the grade received, but must be turned in before we take the chapter test. Work will be graded, and the higher of the two scores will be entered into the gradebook.
Tests may be redone with teacher permission within a week after the test was given. The two test scores will be averaged for the final grade.
Notebooks
Each
student is expected to keep separate science and social studies notebooks. These notebooks contain all notes taken,
assignments and hand-outs. The
notebooks will be graded at the end of each quarter, and are worth 100 points
toward the final quarter grade.
