Successful completion of the 5-week summer session will award students 0.5 credits.

Fee: $150/per class; $75/per class deposit due by May 20, 2008, with balance due by the first day of class

COURSES
US/AZ Government
Grade 12 | Location: Room 211 | Instructor: Mr. Clark Tenney
Class meets May 27th –June 26th
Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
This class meets the US/AZ requirement. This course allows students to involve themselves more thoroughly in our democratic process. Since most seniors will be eligible to participate in the election process after turning 18, this course should prove helpful in creating an interest and awareness of that procedure. Many local, state and federal political issues are examined in hopes that these students will be better informed when they become involved in government.
Math Lab
Grades 9-12 | Location: Room 63 | Instructor: Mr. Ray Reidburn
Class meets May 27th – June 26th
Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This class covers General math 1-2 thru Geometry 1-2. This class will prepare incoming freshmen that complete Foundations Algebra 2 to retake the Algebra prognosticator test in order to enroll in Algebra in the fall semester.
Additionally, current PHS students may enroll in this course in order to make up math credit. Students may only enroll in a class level equal to or higher than a previous math class taken.
World Geography
Grade 9 | Location: Room 220 | Instructor: Mr. Don Kosco
Class meets May 27th – June 26th
Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This course is a study of people, places and environment from a physical and cultural perspective. Through a variety of classroom activities, students will gain an appreciation and understanding of the interdependent world in which they live. Students will analyze and evaluate the connection between their local and global communities. This class will involve students in creative, interpersonal, and computer-based learning opportunities.
