Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Prescott High School!
A Message from Principal Totsy McCraley
Prescott High is a comprehensive high school offering a variety of academic, athletic, and activity programs which prepare our graduates for the future.
The four cornerstones of a successful high school are athletics, activities, the arts, and academics. Prescott High is proud of the opportunities afforded its students in all of those areas. Athletics is very important in developing a spirit of cooperation, leadership skills, and teamwork. Our programs support nineteen athletic teams, which appeal to both young men and women. All of these programs are supported by strong parent booster organizations.
The activity program is growing. Encouraging students to develop interest and then to join a program to foster those areas is a major goal on the campus this year.
Ruth Street Theater is the showcase for the Prescott High fine arts department. In addition to drama performances, the facility houses a student art gallery as well as many music programs. Because of its features, many community groups perform in Ruth Street Theater, too.
Academics are the most important of all of the cornerstones. Prescott High is extremely proud of the variety of courses offered to students. Advanced Placement (AP) courses exist in most subjects, with a North Central goal of introducing a new AP course each year for the next four years. Vocational education is very important, and students have the opportunity to be trained in very modern facilities which include a nursing program and a fire science program. Dual credit courses, in conjunction with Yavapai Community College, allow students the chance to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously.
Prescott High School is, indeed, the right choice. We hope that you and your student will explore these opportunities and decide that Prescott High is the right choice for you.
Sincerely,
Totsy McCraley, Principal ~ Prescott High School
