Arizona Tri-University Admission Standards - AZ Board of Regents

Graduates of Northpoint will have:
4 years of Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies (exceeding state and local requirements)

Beginning fluency in a foreign language (2 years required)

Research skills, critical thinking abilities, and an academic preparation fully coordinated with being successful in college

Extra-curricular opportunities that coordinate with personal interests and the school's mission (all students are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one extra-curricular activity)

Over 80 hours of quality service work for the community

Travel experience beyond the borders of Arizona and, ideally, the United States (all students are strongly encouraged to travel internationally at least once during their high school career)

A solid understanding of college choices, college academic programs, and career choices)

A portfolio that documents growth and exemplary work

A completed fitness/wellness plan that includes outdoor adventure

An appreciation and understanding of the arts

The nature of Expeditionary Learning coursework and school structures provides an opportunity for students to exceed graduation requirements and encourages students to utilize dual-enrollment and concurrent credit options. This system also accommodates students who may need additional time to complete requirements.

Electives (Intensives)-
Electives are offered as intensives in January and May, where students take one course for two weeks straight. Students earn 0.5 credits per intensive course. Course title will vary with topic. Examples include Forestry, Mosaic Tiling, Creative Writing, Theater, Publications, etc.

Crew-
Focus on team-building; literacy skills; wellness; & service

Passage Portfolio-
Students will present a passage portfolio to signify completion of their Sophomore and Senior years with potential to earn 0.5 credits each time.
