"Adopt a School" Opportunities Through PUSD 2008-2009

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Miller Valley School volunteer! Your presence will encourage students and enrich our school.

Before we can release you to be an official volunteer, please complete the following items in the order in which they are presented:

1. Pick up and fill out the PUSD Volunteer Packet from Miller Valley School. If you are a parent of a PUSD student, you will only need to fill out a few papers but do not have to be processed for a background check.

2. Go to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (255 E. Gurley St., 928-771-3260) on a Tuesday or a Thursday from 1-4 PM to get fingerprinted. You will need the following to complete that process: a) Your filled out fingerprint card that you received in your PUSD Volunteer Packet; and b) a photo I.D. Make sure they know you are volunteering with PUSD so they do not charge you a fee.

3. Return your processed fingerprint card and the rest of your completed PUSD volunteer packet to Miller Valley School.

4. It will take approximately 4 weeks to process your packet and to do a background check. You will be contacted by your school site when that process has been completed.

5. You may need to attend a volunteer orientation and/or a placement interview - call for details
