Miller Valley and Goldmine are excited to offer our program to students from other elementary schools in the district.  The following is a list of schools and the bus route number that your child needs to take to get to Miller Valley. Please contact Kris Foster prior to your child’s first class so she can wait for them at our Miller Valley bus drop-off. They will be expected to follow the same rules that they have at their own school and Miller Valley’s as well.

Goldmine classes are open to all Prescott Unified School District students!

The Miller Valley Goldmine program is a way to extend the school day by offering a collection of classes or "clubs." These classes are designed to help with homework, academic assistance, or to just encourage and stimulate the interest of our students. All classes are taught by current and former educators, as well as licensed professionals. Goldmine classes are open to all Prescott Unified School District students!

arrow This semester's schedule begins Monday, Jan. 25th and goes through May 7th.

arrow Snacks are sold from 2:45-3:00 pm on Mon., Tues., and Thurs. and 2:15-2:30 pm on Wed. ($.25 ea./limit 2) in the school gym.

arrow Classes are held from 3:00-4:00 pm on Mon., Tues., and Thurs. (2:30-3:30 pm on Wed.)

arrow There are NO classes on holidays, half-days, or if school closes early due to a snow day.

arrow Miller Valley students can sign up for 1 homework class FREE of charge!

arrow There are no buses available. Children must be picked up from the south parking lot at 4 pm on Mon., Tues., and Thurs., and 3:30 pm on Wednesdays. They must be picked up at this time! Please contact me immediately on my cell phone if there is a problem. 925-6619

Just the Guys
4th-5th grade / Gym
This exciting club is open to boys in the 4th and 5th grades. Enjoy fun, active experiences while building upon the seven pillars of Character Counts. Activities will include: community service projects, environmental education and building/shaping positive peer relationships! We will assist with Miller Valley's recycling and gardening programs and also take walking field
trips to learn and give back to our local community. Of course we'll make time for sports, games and more fun!

Mural Club - Beginning in March
3rd-5th grade / Art Room
Mural club will resume after spring break when warmer weather arrives. The day of the week for this class is yet to be determined. Last semester’s students will be given first preference in registering, however new students will be welcome to sign up if space allows. Register now to hold your spot.

MV Gold Mine Rules
Children in the Goldmine will abide by the same rules they follow throughout the day at school. They will respect their teachers and other children in their classes, and show consideration for Miller Valley property. If a child disrespects a teacher or disrupts others in class, the child’s parent/guardian will be called immediately. The parent/ guardian will be expected to pick up the child immediately.

Sign Language

Learn how to communicate in sign language. Participants of this two-part class will be awarded a certificate of completion. You will learn finger spelling and signing of full words and phrases. This class is taught by a former teacher and superintendent of the Indiana School for the Deaf.

Girl Power II

This exciting club is open to girls in the fourth and fifth grades.  We will explore issues relating to setting personal goals, peer relationships, body image, role playing, the seven pillars of Character Counts, and other exciting topics important to you.  You will take part in exciting activities such as babysitting training and learning how to resolve issues with friends.  This afterschool class promises to be a fun, moving, and a true bonding experience for all who join us.

Bicycle Club

Learn about bicycle safety, operation and maintenance. Participate in short bicycle rides on campus and on low traffic city streets in the vicinity of the school. Limited enrollment.
