Speech and language services are offered at Mile High. Speech/language therapy is a component of special education. Referrals are made through the Child Study Team process. The program is designed to assist students who demonstrate moderate to severe disabilities in the areas of articulation, voice, stuttering, oral language comprehension/processing or oral language expression.
Services can be in the form of consultation to the classroom teacher, classroom-based instruction, pull-out, or any combination of these depending on the needs of the student. Myofunctional therapy (tongue thrust therapy) is not available unless there exists an accompanying articulation problem.
Contact the speech/language therapist or your child's counselor for further information.
