National Jr. Honor Society

One of the highest honors a student may receive is being accepted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Membership in this society is for 7th and 8th grades only and is based upon scholarship, school citizenship, service, leadership, and character. A survey is given to all student who have met the cumulative grade point average (GPA) requirement. Students are invited to apply by invitation based upon the qualification elements listed below.

Parents: Please be advised that GPA does not guarantee membership in NJHS. The selection is confidential and committee makeup is also confidential. This protects the selection committee members from undo pressure. The student body will be notified as to the time and method of selection. Each student is evaluated on all five qualifications.

If accepted into NJHS, students are required to complete a minimum of nine hours of community service each quarter, as well as nine hours during the summer months.
