August 26, 2008

Well, our new school year is rolling along, and we are very excited for all the great things that PTA has planned this year at Lincoln School. On August 22nd we watched our first movie, "Horton Hears A Who," on our beautiful new lawn and it was great fun for all! We hope everyone enjoyed it! Thank you to Jennifer Woolnough for chairing this and making this a great event! Many thanks also to all our sponsors, Mama Edda's Gourmet Pizza, Credit Union West, Liberty One, Ryan Brown D.D.S. of My Kid's Dentist, Fred and Laura Fenderson of Pres-cott Orthodontics, Robert Alder of Aspen Dental, Dawn Poulin, Mary Jo Amos, Adams & Mull, PLLC, the Woods family, and Kelly Spence of Catering to Kids.
Thanks for all your support, and have a great week!

Gina Yadron, Lincoln School PTA President Elect

PTA

The Lincoln School PTA provides a variety of services to the school community. It is a vital link between parents, teachers, students, and administration.

This award-winning unit has been recognized at the state level for having the greatest increase in membership regionally, most grandparent members, most business memberships, 100% family membership, 100% faculty membership, and 100% support staff membership!

We welcome volunteers! There are many opportunities for involvement. Choose your favorite (or suggest something in which you’d like to participate). Even as little as one hour per year per parent makes a big difference.

PTA Service Projects

Reading Is Fundamental - a free book give-away program which allows Lincoln School students the opportunity to select a book of their own. Distributions are planned for the months of October, February, and May.

Support offered - Cultural Arts Fair, Science Fair, Field Day, Math Challenge, computer software, reading incentives, enrichment materials, Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math enhancement, incentive money to each teacher, and more.

PTA Fund-raising Projects - Various fund-raising events furnish money for school activities, materials, and projects not covered in the normal school budget.

Membership Drive -- dues go toward national and state support as well as local service projects.

Campbell’s & General Mills - by collecting labels from Campbell’s and other name brand products, and General Mills box tops PTA can purchase items for the school.

School Pictures - PTA receives a portion of each package purchased.

Fall & Spring Gift Product Sales - exciting fund-raisers with delivery in time for the holidays.
