Consideration of:  Approving a request from Mr. Steve Gianelli, Science Teacher at Prescott High School, for a Medical Leave of Absence beginning January 7, 2002, and lasting for the remainder of the school year.

Relevant Information:  This request falls within the guidelines of the Family and Medical Leave Act.  A suitable replacement has been found.

Consideration of:  Approving the identification of the Meet and Confer Committee for 2001-2002.

Relevant Information:  Board Policy HD states for certified employees that …“at an appropriate time, the Governing Board will institute a committee composed of (1) certificated employees’ organization representatives and (2) Governing Board Representatives to specifically address the matters affecting employee salaries and certain fringe benefits…” For classified the Governing Board…“endorses an orderly process of Meet and Confer between the Board’s officially appointed representative(s) and the Classified employees organization representatives to consider matters affecting employee salaries and fringe benefits…”

 

The Prescott Education Association, Prescott Classified Education Association and district administration support the following composition of the Meet and Confer Team:

 

3 – PEA:  President + 2 members + (1 alternate)

3 – PCEA:  President + 2 members + (1 alternate)

2 – Administrators:  1 Principal + 1 Director (Classified Auxiliary)

2 – Board Members

2 – District Office:  (Non-Voting) Assistant Superintendent + Business Manager

Relevant Information:  Board Policy requires acceptance by the Governing Board of all donations.

 

Exhibits: 

One VCR donated by Mrs. Blanche Butler to the Prescott High School TV Production Program and valued at $250.00.

 

One Reynolds Tenor Trombone with case, one trombone case and one snare drum with stand and sticks donated by Mr. Gary McParland and valued at $300 to Prescott Mile High Middle School band program.

 

Fifty two hundred twenty-five dollars from the Taylor Hicks PTA, to be used for playground improvements at Taylor Hicks Elementary School.

 

Thirty-five hundred dollars from Mrs. Drusilla Thompson, to Prescott High School for the north parking lot paving project.

 

Five hundred dollars from the Wal-Mart Foundation, presented to Prescott High School teacher Lisa Sandberg, Wal-Mart Area Teacher of the Year.

 

Twelve hundred dollars from the Prescott YMCA, for the scoreboard at Granite Mountain Middle School.

 

Three thousand dollars from Prescott Anesthesia LLC, one thousand for Prescott Mile High Middle, one thousand for Abia Judd Elementary School and one thousand to Prescott High School.

12.  The Annual State of Assurance for Prescott Unified School District’s Teacher Evaluation System Status, as required by the State Board of Education to verify compliance with A.R.S. §15-537, and that monies have been used solely for teacher compensation (A.R.S. §15-952, Section C.)  Please refer to Enclosure #9.

 

13.  A letter from Mr. Darrell Willis, Fire Chief, regarding a high school student presentation before the Prescott City Council.  Please refer to Enclosure #10.
