Music Memory is an integrated arts extravaganza featuring the Visual and Performing Arts Department of PUSD. Fourth graders are exposed to classical music through their music classes, and the visual arts teachers support this instruction by creating units that integrate the music studied. PUSD fourth graders learned about the work of composer Georges Bizet and his opera “Carmen.” The visual field trip features works of art created with this composer and opera in mind.

The following artwork was submitted to the Music Memory program to be displayed at their annual presentation in March.

Abia Judd School

Taylor Hicks School

Taylor Hicks students responded to the music through the use of line and color as a representation of their feelings.

Lincoln School

Lincoln students responded to the music through the creation of lyrical bubbles. They used movement and color as their form of expression.
