Academics
The Prescott Unified School District Governing Board and the Arizona State Department of Education have approved the curriculum at Abia Judd. District and state curriculum guides are available for examination in the office. State standards in each subject can also be found on the District's curriculum pages.
In the areas of music, art, physical education, technology and library, students will be on a rotating six-day schedule. Each school day is assigned a number between one and six. Students will attend these specials on their designated days. We have found that the six-day schedule allows the benefits of providing more time in special classes and, because the schedule will skip holidays, will keep classes from missing their designated special classes due to holidays. At first, the schedule may seem confusing, but as students (and parents) get used to the rotation, you will find that it does have advantages. During each six-day rotation, students will receive two music classes, two physical education classes, one hourlong art class, one computer class (two computer classes in grades 4-5), and one library period.
Report Cards
Report cards are sent home four times each year, at the end of each quarter.
